KEMCY Community Development Initiative Initiative (KECODI)
(KECODI) is a non-political, independent, and non-profit Community-Based Organization (CBO) founded in 2022. Our organization is dedicated to spearheading community-driven development initiatives and promoting various development activities among rural community workers in Kisumu County. With a deep understanding of the struggles faced by our community, our director, who was born and raised in the village, has a passionate vision of making a positive impact by giving back to the community.

Our vision is to create a thriving and sustainable community in Seme sub-county, Kisumu County, where all residents have access to essential resources, education, and economic opportunities.
Our mission is to empower and uplift the lives of 7000 people living in the Seme sub-county within one year. We aim to achieve this through various targeted initiatives that focus on sexual reproductive health, economic empowerment of youth and women, and climate change interventions.

Goals and Objectives
Promote Sexual Reproductive Health
We aim to educate the community, particularly girls, about menstrual hygiene, and we conduct drives to supply sanitary pads to minimize the interference of girls & education due to a lack of proper menstrual products, ensuring they stay in school.
Youth and Women Economic Empowerment
Through our poultry and Kitchen Garden project, we aim to provide training, resources, and support to empower the youth and women in the community to create sustainable economic opportunities and financial independence.
Climate Change Intervention
We actively participate in tree planting initiatives to combat climate change, increase green cover, and promote environmental sustainability

Dorine Juma Odongo is the exceptional and inspiring founder and director of KEMCY Community Development Initiative (KECODI). Born and brought up in the very village where the organization is rooted, she intimately understands the challenges and struggles faced by the rural community in Kisumu County. With an unwavering passion to make a tangible difference, Dorine established KEMCY in 2022 as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) with the aim of spearheading community-driven development initiatives and promoting growth and progress among rural communities.
Growing up in the Seme sub-county of Kisumu, Dorine developed an unbreakable bond with her community. Witnessing the hardships her fellow villagers endured daily, she became resolute in her determination to give back and uplift their lives. KEMCY Community Development Initiative was born from this profound dedication to creating sustainable and transformative change Dorine visionary leadership and relentless drive have culminated in a bold and ambitious goal to transform the lives of 7000 people residing in the Seme sub-county within a span of one year. While this objective may seem audacious, it serves as a testament to her unwavering belief in the potential for meaningful change, even in the face of formidable challenges
With her diploma in pharmaceutical technology and ten years of experience running her own pharmacy business, Kemcy Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dorine possesses a deep understanding of Health-related issues and their impact on communities. Through her expertise in healthcare and entrepreneurship, Dorine is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of the people she aims to support. Her passion for improving access to healthcare and her track record of successful business management make her a formidable force in pursuing positive transformations in the Seme sub-county. With Dorine at the helm, the community can look forward to a brighter and healthier future.
