Stop the Bleeding, Save Lives” campaign
A campaign focused on reducing preventable deaths caused by severe bleeding during emergencies. Our primary target group is boda boda (motorcycle) riders, who are often the first responders at the scene of road accidents. Given their unique positioning within communities and frequent presence on roads, boda boda riders play a critical role in emergency response. Through this campaign, we empower them with life-saving knowledge, information, and hands-on skills to manage active bleeding effectively before professional help arrives.

Key Objectives:
 • Train and equip boda boda riders with practical first aid skills focused on bleeding control.
 • Reduce the number of deaths caused by blood loss, which accounts for a significant percentage of fatalities in road traffic accidents and other emergencies.
 • Strengthen community-based emergency response by turning everyday riders into first-response heroes.
This campaign is not just about first aid, it’s about building a culture of preparedness, resilience, and community responsibility. Together, we can stop the bleeding and save lives.

Our community-based organization, KEMCY, began as a small initiative driven by a deep passion to give back, uplift, mentor, and empower the community in every way we can. Among our many projects is cultural dance, a program designed to bring together women, men, and youth while providing entertainment for the community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Plan International Kenya for recognizing our community’s potential and joining us in the journey toward creating a better future. We are truly humbled. A special thanks to Mr. Gerald, Director for East and Southern Africa, for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit and support us.As KEMCY, we look forward to building more partnerships and continuing to make a difference together.
